Leo
The Rending Lion, The King – The Testimony of the LORD is
Sure
(Revelation 11, 14, 17 and 20)
God
always works the same way. First, He
reveals Himself and His plan and the test of obedience to believe the truth
revealed follows.
With
the placement of the covenant luminaries on the fourth day of creation, the
signs and the appointed events of the covenant Son and His government on earth
were pictured to the angelic creation. The
message in the picture provided the
angelic creation the purpose of their being, which is to minister to their Creator
and to the heirs of salvation. The
precious stones of covering were the test of obedience to believe the truth of
the revelation (Ezekiel 28:13).
As a
ministering spirit of the holiness of God, Lucifer was to do the commandments
of the LORD and hearken to the voice of His word to do His pleasure. In so doing, Lucifer would fulfill the purpose
of his creation.
In
coveting God’s kingdom, Lucifer made a decision to rebel and reject the love of
his Creator. Leaving the presence of his
Sovereign, Lucifer led a third of the innumerable company of the angelic host
with him in his rebellion. He refused to
be a minister in God’s government. He
became the adversary of God coveting what could not justly be his. Lucifer, the deceiver of men, embraced the symbol
of the serpent pictured in the luminaries; the serpent is the symbol of the pride
of self-will. Lucifer took the serpent
as his symbol of power.
The
sign of Leo testifies to the truth that God’s plan is sure – it is established
– He is King – His is the Victory. Indeed,
the testimony in the constellation of Leo is sure.
The end
of the contest for the Sovereignty of the earth with the destruction of the
city Mystery Babylon is seen in Leo (Revelation 14:8), and the kingdoms of this
world “…become the kingdoms of our LORD and of His Christ…” (Revelation
11:15).
The
luminaries are a heavenly pictorial of an earthly kingdom. Although the covenant takes ages to
accomplish, the kingdom promised the fathers of the nation Israel is a reality;
Israel will never again be held captive.
Lucifer’s
plan to overpower and overthrow God is through a city - a kingdom built through
merchandising − a city where the creature is served rather than the Creator. This city built through merchandising is a
system of politics, economics and religion.
Wealth and power are the motive for the merchandising.
Seeing himself as the lion (1Peter 5:8), Lucifer is willing to play the part of a
serpent until he achieves his goal – king
of the kingdom. Lucifer in the
deceitfulness of his own thinking sees the covenant as he wants it to be, dependent upon mankind rather than the covenant
Son. However, because Lucifer is a
spirit being, he must use a medium to achieve his desire to have the kingdom
that belongs to God.
Lucifer
has wisdom (Ezekiel 28:17) but not understanding. He has enough wisdom to know that he cannot
move God, but he knows he can maneuver man. He set his plan in motion to build a city
using a creation of God with a flesh body.
The first-born son of the man and woman, Cain, was willing to cooperate with
Lucifer and be mentored by him (Jude). After
all, Lucifer had been tested and allowed to continue in his rebellion with no
apparent consequences, so really what can God do?
God
always works the same way. First, He
reveals Himself and His plan and the test of obedience to believe the truth of
the revelation follows.
Eager
to build with Lucifer, Cain knew the truth. He knew that “[For] the wrath of God is
revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who
hold the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18); he knew to do well and accept
the gift of righteousness and live forever (Genesis 4, 5). However, Cain burned in his anger at God’s
way of love. In his refusal of the love
of God, in his refusal to mix with faith the truth taught him, Cain, like
Lucifer, refused the purpose of his
creation, which is choosing to become a son of God.
God
knew that any creation other
than Himself would be lawless. Lawlessness
is a state of being and it manifests itself by setting one’s will above the
will of his Creator and everyone else.
Like
his mentor Lucifer, “Cain went out from the presence of the Lord … and he
builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son,
Enoch” (Genesis 4:16, 17). Enoch has the
meaning initiate, dedicate. Cain leaves
the presence of the Lord to initiate the building of the city system sourced in
the evil one and dedicates himself to it.
Beginning
with Cain and down through the ages until the end of the age, the serpent seeks
to build his kingdom. Lucifer fulfills
his desire for world dominion by those inhabitants of the earth willing to be
mentored by him through their own lust for wealth and power.
At the
end of the age, the proud world ruler (the man of lawlessness willing to be
used by the serpent) will claim to be god, but the Lord God declares that he is
a mere mortal and will take away the wealth of the riches gained through
merchandising (Ezekiel 28:9, 10). The king
and his kingdom will be destroyed. The
earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24).
In the
star chart drawings, the stellar sign of Leo is a magnificent and majestic lion
pouncing on the head of a very large serpent that is attempting to flee for its
life.
The
lion is a symbol of power, courage and nobility. Most cat species live a solitary existence,
but the lion is the exception; the lion is the most socially inclined. Male lions are unique among the cat species
for the thick mane that “crowns” their head.
The roar of the lion can be heard up to five miles away. Lions do not roar where there is no prey
(Amos 3:4). The lion can hunt at any
hour of the day, but typically they
go after large prey at night, killing
their prey with a bite to the neck or throat.
Indisputably, the lion is the “king” of the jungle. He is the most powerful and fierce of all the wild beasts on earth.
In the
sign Leo, no contest or challenge of sovereignty exists between the serpent and
the lion. Victory belongs to the
King. God assures success in overcoming
the adversary; the adversary is conquered. God declares victory before the conflict commences − before the serpent became a symbol
for Lucifer, before there was Eden, before there was man (Genesis 1:14). The just verdict of the success of triumph and
agony of defeat is rendered. This is
God’s covenant. All is dependent upon
His doing and was accomplished before the world began (Titus 1:2, 2Timothy 1:9,
1Peter 1:19-20)
The
names of the sign Leo, “The Rendering Lion” or “Tearing,” “The Lion
Who Rends” or “Makes Waste,” “The Plucking Asunder” along with the star
names identified in the stellar sign “The Treading Underfoot,” “The Judge” or
“Lord Who Comes Quickly,” “The Exaltation,” “Shining Forth,” “The Tearing of
the Lion,” “Enemy Put Down” is the prophetic triumph of the conquest of
victory.
The “Enemy
Put Down” will not be put down with a bite to the neck or throat; no, “The
Rendering Lion,” the King, “Treading Underfoot” will pounce on its
head and rub out forever the enmity in the thinking.
The
city system of politics, economics and religion sourced in the spirit of this
world and built through merchandising for wealth and power will be destroyed. In the stellar sign, the king of the jungle
(of men) has the victory. Man, apart
from the covenant Son, does not have wisdom to hold dominion over God’s earth. Neither does the evil one in whom the wisdom
of this world is sourced.
The first
decan in Leo is Hydra – “The Abhorred.” Hydra is the largest constellation of the sky
and is feminine in gender carrying the idea of seduction. Later the name and gender of the serpent was
changed to Hydrus, the “father
of lies” (John 8:44).
The
size of the constellation is a testament to the ages it will take to “build”
the system and the global effect of the city system. What is abhorrent to God is the merchandising
for wealth and glory and world power sourced in the spirit of this world. This city built through merchandising is “The
Heart of the Serpent.” Hydra
represents the deceitful and vain beauty of the city “…MYSTERY BABYLON THE
GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH” (Revelation 17:5).
The evil
one uses the seduction of the world system as bait to draw men who are drawn
away of their lust for wealth and power to worship man the created rather than
God the Creator. Babylon is an organized
world system of politics, economics
and religion that rises out from the sea of humanity under the authority of the
serpent, which by the end of the age has become a great dragon. When the man of lawlessness takes “the head”
of the global society, the “seat” of the authority for the system will be based
in Jerusalem. At that time, Satan will
declare the whole earth to be one kingdom – his!
However,
Babylon, which has the meaning of “confusion,” has no firm foundation – the
city system is virtual.
The
star names of Hydra are “The Heart of the Serpent,” “The Separated
or Excluded,” “The Put Out of the Way,” “The Piercing, Punishing or Tearing to
Shreds of the Deceiver.” These star
names reveal the truth declared in Revelation 14:8 “Babylon is fallen, is
fallen, that great city….”
The
mother of all evil, the political, economic and religious system of Mystery
Babylon, is the “Enemy Put Down,” and “The Abhorred.” “The Heart of the Serpent,” the virtual
city of the “father of lies,” is no more! The reason for her demise is “…She made all
nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication” (Revelation 14:8). The wine of Babylon – the power of wealth and
recognition is an inflammatory intoxicating wine. The wine of Babylon is the drink of
fornicators. The nations, who prostitute
themselves in her fornication, must drink of the wine of God’s anger. God’s wrath is pictured as a cup, a container
to hold His anger.
The
second decan is “Crater,” the cup. The
cup was used as a mixing bowl for wine.
In the star chart drawings the two handles of the cup are serpents; the
cup is pictured on the serpent Hydra. No
star names have been preserved for “Crater;” but in light of the
message of the stellar sign of Leo, it is clear that the cup is a cup of
judgment. The cup of wine pictures the
wrath of God ready to be poured – a just recompense for the adversary’s
renunciation and rejection of the purpose of his creation - to minster to His
Creator. The decan is composed of 13
stars. Thirteen pictures apostasy in scripture.
God’s
wrath is the grief of the ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, “…who hold
the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest
in them; for God hath shewed it unto them” (Romans 1:18-19). For God it is a desire with grief, for His
desire is that all should become the righteousness of God through faith in the covenant
Son. God is not willing that any should perish
but that all should come to repentance (2Peter 3:9; 1Timothy 2:1-6; Acts
10:34-35; Ezekiel 18:23). Yet, God is
jealous for justice. He hates
iniquity. Crookedness is wrong and
destructive. God is right and just.
God
must do right to the lawless who are at enmity with Him in their mind through
the pride of self-will, who refuse to see themselves as a creation of the almighty
Creator God. They must be given what
they have treasured up for themselves.
They must be given what they have asked for, which is the wrath and
vengeance of their decision to reject their place as a creation (Romans
2:4-6).
They
have despised His gift of righteousness; they have refused the Son of His love −
the Son of the covenant. God cannot be
loving and merciful at the expense of righteousness and justice, “the wine of
the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture” (Revelation 14:10).
With
the fall of Babylon, the world system falls. It is the end of Gentile dominion over the
earth. Jerusalem will be free from all
enemies. The victory is complete; it is
finished. The King is the Victor!!!
The
fitting final destruction for the serpent is the wrath of God poured out upon
him and his workings (Revelation 14:10, 11).
The serpent’s virtual city is destroyed, consumed by the unclean birds
(Revelation 17:14-18) and the serpent, “The Mad,” “The Deceiver,” is “The
Caught [and] The Bound,” cast into the pit for a thousand years
(Gemini). No longer permitted to deceive,
Lucifer is “…bound a thousand years And cast into the bottomless pit, and shut
up, and a seal set upon [him], that he should deceive the nations no more, till
the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little
season” (Revelation 20:3).
The
name of the third decan is “Corvus,” “The Raven,” and “The
Accursed.” The raven is a large
corvine bird that feeds greedily on the rotting flesh of the dead (Genesis
8:6-9).
The star
names identified in the third decan conclude the prophecy “He shall bruise your
head” in Genesis 3:15. “The
Curse Inflicted” or “The Accursed” is inflicted with “The Raven’s Piercing or Tearing to Pieces.”
The
outward rebellion of enmity against the Sovereign (the Lion - Leo) has been
destroyed. When the Sovereign comes to
His city, Zion, He will be coming as the Judge (Taurus). Depending on the individual decision made, judgment
makes one a bond slave to the new Sovereign or judgment brings the sword
(death). A bond slave is one who willingly
serves his Sovereign in love.
It will
be a time of great decision. To every
nation, language, kindred and people the invitation is given - bow the knee, “Kiss
the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way” (Psalm 2:12).
“… the
testimony of the LORD is sure…” (Psalm 19:7b); what He says that He will do. Jehovah renders without any hint of failure,
permanently and quietly, His “sure” victory.
